Why Big Companies Make Bad Products

Reminds me of a conversation I had with a former research analyst at Green Street. He was half-joking while quoting his father-in-law (a former IBM employee) and said, “When the company is being run by the founder, stay. When it’s being run by sales and marketing people, wait and see. If it’s being run by accountants or financial analysts, run.”

We were always very fortunate to have been led by founders and research-product-owners who were able to keep five-thousand ideas in their brain and distill it into a product they were really proud of. I hope the process continues.
